Frequently asked questions

The questions I hear most on the phone. If yours is missing, write through the contact form.

Booking and the first visit

What is the free pre-call?

A 15-minute phone call. I listen to your situation briefly and we choose the right service together. No nutrition plan is given in the pre-call; you get information about fees and the process.

What should I bring to the first visit?

If you have them, bring lab results from the last six months, the boxes of supplements you take or that your doctor recommended, and for baby and child visits the record of growth checks. A three-day food diary makes the visit more useful.

Is the booking form a confirmed appointment?

No, it is a request. After you send the form I call you within 1 working day and we set a time from the days you prefer.

Should I bring my child to the visit?

I suggest doing part of the first visit without your child, so we can talk freely about difficulties at the table. You can bring your child to follow-ups; there is a play corner in the room.

Online and in-person visits

How do online visits work?

Before the visit a video call link arrives by email; no app to install. The call is not recorded. We take measurements together with your home scale, as I explain.

Is there a difference between online and in-person visits?

The content and length are the same. In person we take body measurements at the practice; for babies and children we look at them together with your paediatrician's records.

Is my information kept confidential?

Yes. Dietary history and measurements are kept in your client file and not shared with third parties. The booking form does not ask for health information; we talk about it at the visit, with your explicit consent.

Fees

How are fees set?

Fees are set as packages by service and number of visits; they are listed VAT included in the table on the Services page. With food allergy the process depends on the doctor's plan, so we discuss the fee at the pre-call.

Can I change my appointment?

You can reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before. For later cancellations, for example if your baby falls ill, I am flexible; please let me know.

Does private health insurance cover it?

Some private health policies may cover dietitian visits. Please ask your insurer about your policy; an invoice is issued after the visit.

Nutrition questions

Should we start solids at 4 months?

The World Health Organization and the Turkish Ministry of Health recommend breast milk only for the first six months and starting solids at 6 months. If your baby has a particular condition, your paediatrician decides the timing.

When can I give my baby water?

A baby fed only breast milk does not need extra water in the first six months. Once solids start you can offer a little water from a cup at meals.

Do I need to "eat for two" in pregnancy?

No. Energy needs barely rise in the first trimester; later the increase is about one snack. What matters is not quantity but getting iron, folate, calcium and protein onto the plate regularly.

Do milk-boosting foods really work?

Milk production depends mostly on how often and how effectively the baby feeds. Enough fluid and regular meals help the mother recover. If you are worried about supply, talk to a lactation consultant or your paediatrician.
